AGENCY1 - Scouting for Food Drive

Sequoyah Council, Boy Scouts of America

720 Greene County boys and 214 adult leaders enjoyed Boy Scout leadership and development activities last year.

Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville and Greene County

2,292 children participated in after-school activities and other programs of the Boys & Girls Club last year.

The Children’s Center

198 children of working, low-income families received three-star-rated, educational daycare services at reduced cost last year.

CASA of Northeast Tennessee

15 local volunteers provided court advocacy and support for 118 children in the Greene County justice system last year.


AGENCY5 - Girl Scouts

Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians

203 local girls and 74 adult leaders enjoyed the youth development and leadership activities of the Girl Scouts last year.


AGENCY6 - school supplies drive

Greene County Schools Family Resource Center

Thanks to the addition of United Way funding last year, 855 children in all Greene County schools received resources and support to promote school readiness.

Greeneville City Schools Family Support Center

Last year, 709 at-risk school children in Greeneville received family outreach and support to aid in school readiness and success.


AGENCY8 - GED graduation

Greene County Literacy Council

Last year, 150 GEDs were awarded, more than 11,567 free instructional hours were provided, and 1,021 students and families were served with literacy and adult education programs.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program

155 seniors provided thousands of hours of volunteer service worth more than $850,000 to local schools, non-profit organizations, and government agencies last year.


Sustaining INCOME

AGENCY10 - Mother daughter

CHIPS Family Violence Shelter

113 victims of domestic violence received shelter and other services last year.

Last year, 2,594 Greene County residents received information and referral for health and human service needs.


AGENCY12 - elderly helper

Personal Support Services

25 elderly and disabled adults received in-home assistance to help them remain independent and in their homes last year, saving their families, Greene County, and the state of Tennessee the additional expense of assisted living.


AGENCY13 - Carrie and Ruth

Foster Grandparents Program

Last year, 82 senior “volunteers” provided love and support to 226 special needs children.  These low-income seniors received a minimal stipend to supplement their retirement.

Tennessee Rehabilitation Center

242 individuals with disabilities entered employment through occupational rehabilitation services, and were effectively moved from public assistance to productive tax-paying citizens.


Improving HEALTH

Child Advocacy Center of 3rd Judicial District

222 reported Greene County victims of severe child abuse and their non-offending caregivers were counseled and helped through the investigation and healing process last year.


AGENCY16 - Charles Bellefant, LMFT

Frontier Health

Last year, 5,358 local residents received 63,344 sessions of mental health counseling, treatment, drug and alcohol abuse therapy, and crisis services.

Greene County Cancer Program

67 cancer patients received assistance with medication, supplies, and transportation to treatments last year.

AGENCY18 - child with therapist

Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center

71 Greene County youth and adults were diagnosed, treated, and educated for speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders last year.

Tennessee Poison Center

Last year, 1,557 calls related to poison ingestion were fielded from Greene County and callers received emergency instruction. Link

Greene County YMCA (member and camp scholarships)

3,245 monthly scholarships were awarded for member fees and youth programs at the local YMCA last year.



AGENCY21 - Carol

American Red Cross

Last year, 28 families (85 individuals) who were victims of home fires received emergency assistance and services, while the entire county benefited from disaster preparation and planning by Red Cross volunteers.


AGENCY22 - Volunteers at Food Bank

Greeneville/Greene County Community Ministries

9,526 households (26,970 individuals) received food, housing, and utility assistance.  The food supplied represents 364,464 meals.

AGENCY23 - Opportunity House 2

Opportunity House

Last year, 185 homeless individuals had a warm place to stay and encouragement and resources to get back on their feet.

Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad

Volunteer emergency personnel with appropriate training and equipment responded to 2,500 automobile accidents and other emergency situations to assist local residents last year. Link
